Plog on current progress
Hello, Some of you will recall that we have been working at grass-roots level with the various government layers to provide a minimal public land/building infrastructure to create a very low-cost and efficient (by today’s standard) model library. Over the 24 months we have had several ups and downs. Finally some concrete and visible progress is underfoot. You can get further background from other documents at this site or from our past seminars and email communications, etc. Here is a brief photo journey below.
The plaque is on the target library building which is in the upper floor of a shopping complex close to the heart of Brahmapur city. The pictures above are snap shots of the state of our reclamation and rebuild initiative at the so-called “MKCG Research Library” site in Brahmapur. You may contrast that with pictures taken a year ago when we negotiated (and prodded a few times more again) a year ago with the district and municipality officials.
One of our recent meetings between our local volunteers and the officials (executive, engineer, BMC officials/corporators, contractor, et al) around Sept 1, 2016. See pictures below.
The effort pays off in a significant way and the cleanup and civil work bringup starts around Oct 1st. See the start of clean up and reclamation work below.
