|Rangabati – the musical charm that filled the heart of millions, young and old, villagers or city folks alike, and a musical chapter in itself represents an essential facet of our culture of folk music. That iconic song’s creator, Padmashri awardee, and renowned Sambalpuri folk singer Shri Jitendra Haripal is facing a recurrent hardship. Recent rains and floods badly damaged his modest house. Along with the broader artist community, especially the folk artists, Sri Haripal continues to be in a challenging financial situation despite the record-breaking popularity of Rangabati from which he made very little by way of income. We appeal to all generous members of the public to come forward to help him at this difficult time. SEEDS is hoping to raise 1 lakh to give it to Sri Haripal at the earliest. We ask for your support to solve the housing crisis for the artist and help protect the unique art form that Sri Haripal represents.||Thanks, Donors!
